Learning for all to be more engaged, inclusive and creative

Philosophy Statement

To create a positive classroom environment, teachers, students, parents, and schools should practice three elements: inclusive curriculum, mutual connections, caring words, and classroom management tools.

I believe all students, teachers, parents and schools should work collaboratively to make a safe, positive, responsive classroom environment by playing an active role based on respect, care, inclusivity, and fairness.

First, teachers should bring an inclusive curriculum and fair assessment process for classroom management to make positive classroom culture. Students would feel safe and respected when they can choose the learning style in the activities in the classroom. For example, teachers bring different tools for students to apply their learning to the activity and choose assistive technology for disabilities. If students take a challenge to the next step of learning, the teacher can ask effective questions to students with progressive feedback based on the teacher's observations and records and peer assessment.

Second, having more interaction between teachers and students can make a huge difference in a responsive classroom environment. For example, when teachers hold a small workshop to tackle a real student's family or academic problems, students express their opinions. During that time, peer groups share their stories and tell how they can overcome the same situation. Teachers can observe students' problem-solving skills and recognize students' emotional safety as well. In this responsive classroom environment, teachers prevent students' unsafety issues properly.

Third, the school environment should be set up with a secure classroom to keep the student healthy. For example, teachers put safe guidelines in the caring room where some students face physical, mental, and academic problems for certain minutes to relax at any time. Peers can be the mentor to support special caring needs students in turn. Students can feel safer at home and build a strong bond. Teachers can invite real people who overcome physical limitations with a growth mindset, which can be an aspiration for keeping a healthy attitude.

Lastly, parents are encouraged to prepare classroom tools and cultivate positive discipline for students using classroom management apps. For example, every day, parents can check up on classroom updates and what students should bring to the class through technical advice. Parents and teachers can share the annotating notes using a communication app on how students act in the classroom. They can have a virtual meeting about the problem and motivations for students' behaviour to understand what students need to improve academic success and positive behaviour. Parents can encourage students' confidence about small improvements, so students are ready to believe in their self-control and potential abilities with a parent's caring and respectful mindset.

To create a positive classroom environment, teachers, students, parents, and schools should practice three elements: inclusive curriculum, mutual connections, caring words, and classroom management tools.
